Quick Summary
Polling inside Slack uses no cookies at all. Our website (tinypoll.io) uses a small number of cookies for analytics and support chat, which you can accept or decline. The web app at app.tinypoll.io uses three cookies, all of them strictly necessary to sign you in and keep the app secure. This policy explains each one.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the website remember information about your visit. Some are essential for the site to work; others help us understand how people use the site or provide support features.

Your choice on the consent banner is remembered in your browser's local storage (tinypoll_cookie_consent) rather than in a cookie. Clearing site data for tinypoll.io brings the banner back.

4. Cookies in TinyPoll Itself
The Slack App
TinyPoll's polling inside Slack uses no cookies. When you use the /tinypoll command, create a poll, or vote in a channel, no cookies are involved.
The Web App (app.tinypoll.io)
The web app sets three cookies. All three are strictly necessary: they exist only to sign you in and keep the sign-in safe, so they are set without asking for consent. There are no analytics, advertising, or support-chat cookies in the web app, and it loads no third-party scripts.
Each cookie is set on api.tinypoll.io with the __Host- prefix, which means the browser refuses it unless it is Secure, host-only, and scoped to the whole site — so no other subdomain can read or overwrite it.

You can clear these cookies in your browser at any time, or sign out in the app, which deletes the session on our side as well. Blocking them means the web app cannot sign you in — Slack polling keeps working either way.
5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Consent banner: When you first visit our site, you can accept or decline non-essential cookies.
- Browser settings: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. See your browser's help documentation for instructions.
- Google opt-out: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Declining non-essential cookies will not affect your ability to use TinyPoll's core polling features in Slack. It also has no effect on the web app, which sets no cookies beyond the three strictly necessary ones in Section 4.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or change a cookie or a tracking tool. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
